483787_10151637428309985_888222409_nLast night was a fun night recording a live video session with Elliott Yamin.  Elliott Yamin is an American singer known for his hit single “Wait for You” and placing third on the fifth season of American Idol. This video will showcase a song called, “Self Control”  off his latest Album, Let’s Get To What’s Real. It was such an honor to not only work with Elliott, but some amazing musicians and singers like Derek Frank who is a killer bass player, Shoshana Bean and Brandon Rodgers, who are both amazing artist and vocalist, were holding down the BGV’s. Vincent Eric Scullin on guitar who was just smooth in the pocket, and many other musicians that made this whole experience worth while. Below is a little snippet of what’s to come in the live video. Stay Tune

Jamesy Boy Screening

  jamsey_cast

Early last year I got the call to work with Film Composer Jermaine Stegall to play drums on some music cues for a film titled Jamesy Boy. Inspired by the real life of troubled teenager James Burns, who goes from suburban street gangs to a maximum-security prison surrounded by hardened criminals.  In prison, James fosters an unlikely friendship with a convicted murderer who ends up becoming his mentor and ultimately defines and changes the course of his life.  Jamesy Boy is a film about hope and redemption, where a fighter becomes a dreamer and a kid with no faith finally sees a brighter future. The cast is headed by Golden Globe Award winners Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames, James Woods, and “Taboo” of the Black Eyed Peas. I got a chance to see the screening last Thursday and this a great movie, I am so honored to be apart of this film, thanks to Jermaine for allowing me to be apart of this project, Jamesy Boy should be released some time this year, please go out and see this movie when it is released. Oasis EP

0

WOW is all I can say. This year has been a great year for my church, Oasis Christian Center. This year we have been blessed with a new building, reached out to the world in so many different ways, and been an even bigger light in Los Angeles. Let me just add, as a result of being plugged into the local church, my year has been a great one as well. One of the many goals for my church this year was to release a Worship EP, and I was so honored when I was asked to be apart of this EP. When I heard the first five seconds of this EP I just know the rest was going to be good, and in fact it is because so many people poured thier worship into this project. The players involved on this album are Dan Lutz(Bass), David Das(Keys), Phillip Meneses(Guitar), Jeff Aulich(Acoustic Guitar) and myself on the Drums. We all volunteered our time on this album and gave God our all in worship while recording this EP. it will be available on iTunes in Jan 2013, this will be a blessing to anyone. I will post the link where you can purchase it when it is released on iTunes, but in the mean time here is one song title “Be With You” as a teaser to see how good it is. Hope you enjoy

Last night’s show w Rachael Lampa

0

Last night I had the pleasure to  an acoustic set with Rachael Lampa at Biola University and it was such a honor and pleasure to play behind her, Rachael is such a talented singer, and has been performing for YEARS, her voice is so beautiful but yet firm and strong, basically she can SANG!. But the night got even better when Rachael invited her friend, Tori Kelly up to sing the last song “Live fot You” these two sounded so great together the crowd went wild, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a collab in the future between these two. It was truly a great night of music and I was so honored to be apart of it, be sure to check out the video below.

FPAC Festival with Zandi

0

Yesterday I had the honor and pleasure of playing with Zandi at the Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture Festival. It was an awesome time to hang with friends, meet new friends, eat some great food and play music. Zandi is more than a singer/song writer, she’s a mother, a wife, a sister, a friend and a breast cancer survivor. After being diagnose on Sept 15 2011, Zandi has now beat and overcome cancer!!! Everytime she hits the stage she sings like its her last, when in reality, you never know. I am thankful to always work along side her and most importantly, for her friendship. Her experience through this rough journey has affected all of us in a positive way, I’ve learned to live each moment of life to the fullest because you can’t get back the days that has already past. Thank You Zandi for being an inspiration to many, and living the life of a warrior. You Rock!!   You can read about her journey with breast cancer on her blog at http://onceuponaboob.wordpress.com

Here’s video footage at the FPAC Festival
